Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc.

Posted in Life at 6:34 pm by Trelliah

So, it’s the holidays. Christmas, and among the wonderful gifts I received — a brand new power cord for my laptop. The replacement for the cord that burned out, and thus prevented me from updating for the majority of the year.

So, uh, if I cram really, really hard, I might just have an actual freaking update for the site by the year’s end. Yeah, I know. ^-^

Anyway, that’s the short version. Don’t know if there’ll be a long version. Here’s wishing everyone out there a safe and happy holiday season, and an upcoming happy new year. I’m out. ^-~

Disenchanted on WordPress/End of year stuff.

Posted in Life at 9:56 pm by Trelliah

Alrighty then. So, I’ve decided — for the moment — to open the WordPress version of Disenchanted. Why, I don’t know. The other version of Disenchanted (the Chise version) is still around and will probably co-exist with this one for awhile, anyway, though it will likely go without updates. I honestly don’t know why the hell I’m doing this, other than I felt like it today and I might change my mind tomorrow, and to hell with it all, I’m not going to worry about it. C’est la vie, and all that good stuff.

Let’s see. We’re in December now. I got a haircut again, and once again lost about four inches, maybe more, putting it about where it was the last time, if not a little cuter-looking. I’m thinking I’ll get it cut shorter next time.

Oh, and I heard Don’t Fear the Reaper being played in Walgreens the other day, and that’s just… that’s just not right, somehow. I mean, I like that song as much as the next person, but that isn’t what I want to hear in a Walgreens. It just isn’t.

I wanted to see the exploding comet. Unfortunately, it’s been overcast all day and still is a little after a quarter past midnight. What a rip off. *sigh*

Oh, and no, I’m still not dead. I’m just still having computer issues. *sob*

No, I’m not dead. Really, I’m not, and you have no idea how much I wish I had something more meaningful to say at this point. Maybe later.

Much better.

So, yesterday, I did indeed go to Home Depot and scored a ceiling fan for a ridiculously low price. Needless to say, I slept very, very well last night.

Additionally, I finally got my hair cut last weekend. *cheer* I had my mom do it, actually. She probably lopped off a good three or four inches of hair. It’s amazing how light it feels now — much better for 90+ degree weather. Much better, indeed.

Argh.

You know, for somebody who’s capable of staying up as late as I often do, I am a very cranky person when something disturbs my sleep at an untimely moment. Like, say, my ceiling fan, which has been a squeaking, grinding piece of shit since we moved in. This irritating fixture has woken me up repeatedly from a sound sleep, and today it was just too much. I had about three hours of sleep before I couldn’t take it anymore.

So, today, I am fully intent on replacing said squeaking, grinding piece of shit — mostly because I’ve become frustrated to tears by it (that, or it’s just the fact that I got three hours of uninterrupted sleep before I was rudely awoken,) because the wiring in the ceiling fan is loose and the lighting doesn’t work now, and I can’t freaking take it anymore. Home Depot, here I come.

Well, the AC got fixed, so that was awesome. Nothing makes you appreciate air conditioning like not having it. I had a nice time at Dad’s — the old man. ^-^ I’m back now, and now I’m just chilling.

I got to see the space shuttle launch, which was nice, because I haven’t gotten to see that in awhile. Say what you will about the human race and the state it’s found itself in, but there’s something to say about all the stuff that goes into taking human beings and sending them to space (to the International Space Station, to the moon, wherever) and bringing them home that’s just awesome. Spaceflight = cool. ^-^

Well, I’m off for now. Later, kiddos.

It’s… so… hot…

The upstairs air conditioner went out. Well, the air conditioner itself hasn’t gone out — the blower fan, which pushes the cold air around the house has gone out, meaning it started making funky, really horrible noises a few days ago. Funky noises, as in, from rattling like a tambourine to the sound of a warbling bugle being played by a tone-deaf child to annoy his parents. So, now, we’re lacking an air conditioner upstairs, a condition that won’t be remedied until tomorrow at least. Unfortunately, hot air rises, so we’re kind of screwed.

The only good news is that it’s not entirely insufferable, but more just kind of stagnant and warm. Until you go downstairs, where the air is about ten degrees cooler, then return upstairs and say, “Ugh.” Five minutes later, and it’s tolerable again.

Too bad the necessary stuff like the kitchen is on the first floor.

Voiceless

I’m tired. I’m really, really tired. It’s not a physical, been up too late kind of way. It’s more like a I’m emotionally tired. I can’t really explain it.

There’s this feeling I keep getting. It’s this almost-sick feeling, about four steps behind nausea. I recognize that it comes when I’m particularly angry/annoyed/anxious/depressed about something, and there’s only one or two things that piss me off enough to make me feel this way. Anyway, I’m getting that feeling again, and I kind of know what it is, and I still can’t say anything. Maybe I’m just depressed again, and that’s all it is.

Maybe.

Ugh.

I think I’m coming down with something. Geez, I hope it’s just allergies. I’ve had enough health problems glitches, thank you very much. I’m pretty sure it’s just allergies, anyway. We had a nice little rainstorm blow through last night, so chances are something blew in with the rain.

Well, whatever it is, I’m ready for it to go away now.
